Unfortunately, they were too thick for my boot eyelets. Not sure they were waxed - the ends were, but the rest just seemed like normal cotton laces. Gave them to a friend who loved them for his sneakers.
It was a “rocky” start as the laces Too Thick and too long for dress 10 eyelet dress shoes! I took your advice and ordered 120cm length based on having 10 eyelets in the shoes. WAY too long by 20 to 30 cm. They were also too thick and unable to pull through top metal eyelets due to thickness of the plastic lace endings. However, I needed it to work so I cut the laces to length, removed the metal eyelets from the shoes and then slit the plastic binding tips and Superglued them to the newly cut ends. Which I had first of all singed with a match to melt the frayed cut fibres. Whooooh! All in all, a lot of work & mucking around. But all is well that ends well! TrevD P.S. Yes, I know now I should have measured the old laces first but it was late at night and I trusted the “recommended” length. Woul not have helped me with thickness though.
